Farm & Feast Shop the Market Without Wasting the Till
x5 packs, comma decimals, and a grocery list that matches tonight's menu.
The market is how Farm & Feast turns restaurant cash into tomorrow’s pantry. Steam’s feature bullet is modest — buy seeds and supplies, grow the little business step by step — but the official Market screenshot is a full grocer: tabs for Herbs, Dairy, Meat, Veggies, Grains, Drinks, Seeds, and Upgrade, plus an Order Summary with a Pay button. This page is the shopping manual. Pair it with cooking so you buy ingredients that dishes actually spend, and with farming so you are not purchasing Carrot Seed for a bed you never water.
Shop while the restaurant is Closed, or at least not in the middle of a drink run. The UI is a grid of plus buttons. It deserves a mouse and a calm clock.
How the shop is laid out
The left side is a tab strip. Dairy is the tab dummy dino chose to screenshot, which is convenient because cream is the Tomato Soup bottleneck. Each tile shows an icon, a name, a unit price, and an x5 badge. You are buying packs, not singles. The right side is Order Summary: line items with quantities, plus/minus steppers, and a total. One sample basket:

Prices in the UI use a comma as the decimal mark ($2,50 on Cream, $51,57 on the total). This wiki writes them with dots in prose so English readers do not trip, but in-game you will see European-style commas. Pay from the green Pay button, not by walking away with a filled summary.

Cream is the day-one buy if Tomato Soup is on the board. Cheeses matter once Mac & Cheese, pizza, or richer pastas show up in the book. Olive oil and BBQ sauce living on Dairy is a reminder to search with your eyes, not with the tab name. If a recipe counts oil, it is here.
Do not buy five cheeses “for variety” on a $1,570 evening (that cash figure appears on the Menu screenshot). Cheese is $8.00 a pack. Four Parmesan in the sample basket already cost $32.00.
Seeds, veggies, grains, drinks
Seeds are how the farm keeps its promise. Carrot Seed at $2.97 in the sample basket is cheap compared with cheese. Buy seeds for beds you will actually water tomorrow, listed on the crop tier list.
Veggies include produce you might also grow. Red Pepper at $0.60 is an emergency buy when the farm did not finish in time. Prefer growing over buying when the Closed morning exists; the whole fantasy is farm-to-table, not grocer-to-table. Use the shop as a buffer, not as the farm.
Grains hold noodles. Four Noodle for $16.00 in the sample basket is the pasta pipeline. If Rigatoni, Spaghetti, or Ravioli is pinned, noodles are not optional.
Drinks restock the fridge spinner. Take Order prices cans and bottles around $10 to the guest. Buying them in bulk is how drink runs stay profitable. A dry fridge is a rating leak no pasta can hide — see restaurant service.
Herbs and Meat are not fully visible in the public Dairy screenshot. Open those tabs in your save and write down what your recipes count. This wiki will not invent a steak price.
Upgrade tab
Upgrade exists as a tab in the Market chrome. Dummy dino has not posted a public list of what it sells in the demo. Treat it as optional until you can photograph the tiles yourself. Do not skip cream to gamble on an Upgrade mystery box. The updates hub will record official upgrade notes when they appear.
A restock ritual after Close
- Scroll the Menu’s remaining counts. What hit zero?
- Scroll the recipe extras. Which herb vanished?
- Buy cream if soup lives on the board.
- Buy noodles if pasta lives on the board.
- Buy drinks until the fridge looks like the official spinner shot — full rows, not two lonely cans.
- Buy seeds for the beds you ran dry.
- Buy cheese or oil only if a pinned dish spends them.
- Pay. Save. Sleep.
If the till is thin, cut the board before you cut the farm. A two-dish menu with stocked extras beats a seven-dish menu of empty tiles. The dish tier list helps you choose which plates survive a budget night.
Economy, not a tycoon spreadsheet
Cash in the screenshots jumps from $1,570 on a modest Menu evening to the $32,000s on a busy service. That spread is the point of tips, stars, and a short honest board. Steam’s copy treats bills and tips as the thank-you at the end of care, not as a hedge-fund. You will not find a hidden crypto crop here.
Spend on the loop: seeds, cream, noodles, drinks. Decorate later. The decorating Steam tag is real, but the demo shots we have are about food. A pretty railing will not plate Ravioli.
When the basket total looks like that $51.57 example, ask one question: does tomorrow’s day planner have a job for every line? If not, minus it before Pay.
