Farm & Feast Run the Cozy Restaurant
Seat, order, drinks, chefs, sweep, bill — the evening half of Farm & Feast.
The restaurant is why the farm exists. Steam describes it with almost ceremonial care: greet guests, seat them, take orders, carry drinks, hand tickets to chefs, sweep, take the bill, collect tips. Official screenshots turn that poem into a floor plan — a terracotta dining room with six numbered tables, a checkerboard kitchen, two chefs, a pizza oven, a fridge, a coffee machine, and a grass queue that never looks at your watering schedule. This page is the service manual. Read cooking first if the menu is still empty, and Getting Started if the HUD still looks like noise.
Open only when the clock badge allows it. Several demo shots show 19:02 Open and 19:30 Closed. The farm belongs to the other half of the day; see farming if you are still holding a hose when people arrive.
The floor plan
Tables 1–6 sit on patterned tile inside a low wooden rail. The kitchen is an open rectangle on the left: stove line, oven, fridge on the back wall. Ticket bubbles float above the roof, grouped by table, with food icons and drink bottles. Green checks mean the kitchen finished that plate. Speech bubbles over diners call for drinks or attention. A dirt smudge on the floor is a spill. The hotbar still offers Market, Recipes, Menu, chest, staff, and medals, but during Open those buttons are for emergencies, not browsing.
Outside, a short queue stands on the grass. Seat them. An empty table beside a waiting line is a rating leak.
Seating and tickets
Walk a waiting guest to a free number. Once they sit, Take Order becomes the important sheet. Customer Orders list each diner’s dish and extras. Main Dishes show remaining plates; locked tiles are off-menu. Confirm extras with the same care Steam asks for — “a wrong dish or a forgotten request upsets your guest.” Rigatoni with garlic, basil, and thyme is not the same as plain Rigatoni. Vegetable Soup with garlic and parsley is not “any soup.”
Hit Order Complete. The ticket strip above the building is now your to-do list. You will glance at it more than at the scenery.
Chefs cook, you run
Two chefs occupy the kitchen in every packed screenshot. Steam’s text matches the art: bring orders to the chefs and they handle the rest. Your contribution to food is a correct ticket and a stocked pantry, not standing on the stove. While pans work, you have three jobs: drinks, dirt, and bills.
If a ticket stalls, the problem is usually ingredients or a locked dish, not a chef who “forgot.” Open the Menu counts. If tomato is 1/47, the farm — not the line cook — is the bottleneck. Fix that tomorrow morning.
Fridge minigame (drinks)
Drinks are a separate verb. Interact with the fridge and a spinning selector appears, labelled FRIDGE, with rows of bottles and cans: grape, orange, strawberry, lemon, pineapple, carrot, tomato, floral cans, cola. A circular picker flicks the chosen bottle onto a round tray. One official shot shows grape juice and a red can already seated on the tray while a strawberry bottle is mid-flight. Cancel is available (Esc on keyboard).
Carry the tray to the diner who asked. Steam’s copy is the scoring rule: leave each glass with the right owner. A drink bubble that lingers is a star you are donating to the sidewalk.
The Take Order grid prices most drinks at $10. That is not a suggestion to ignore them. Drinks are easy money if the fridge is stocked, and easy rating damage if it is not. Restock on the Drinks tab of the market.
Check Please, tips, and reviews
When a table is done, Check Please opens a card-terminal overlay: a PIN pad, a tap-to-pay card, and a receipt. One demo receipt reads $13.97 for Table 05. Finish the prompt. This is the cash step Steam called the finale of the evening. Walking off to plant carrots during a bill is how you work for free.
Tips appear as floating values. One busy shot shows a $9.14 tip plus a comment card: “One of the best visits lately. A truly great experience,” with a 4.2 star and a hearts counter. That overlay is the game telling you the loop landed. Another shot shows the restaurant at 3.4 stars with fewer tickets — the same room, worse rhythm.
Star rating in the top-left is the long memory of these evenings. Keep it healthy and guests stay kind. Let extras slip and the number is the first thing you will notice the next day.
Cleaning and flow
Dark stains on the tile are spills. Sweep between drink runs. You do not need to be frantic; you need to be circulating. A useful personal route:
- Glance at the queue; seat if a table is free.
- Glance at drink bubbles; fridge then tray.
- Glance at green checks; bill those tables.
- Glance at the floor; sweep one stain.
- Repeat.
Do not open the recipe book mid-rush unless a ticket is impossible. Do not wander to the beach. The shore is for Closed hours, as the demo walkthrough already argued.
Staff and visitors
A hotbar tile with a person-plus icon sits beside the chest. Demo shots do not fully document hiring, so this wiki will not invent a staff skill tree. What we can see: two chefs already work the line, and you are the floor. If the full game on 11 Nov 2026 expands hiring, the updates hub will say so after dummy dino does.
After Close
When the badge flips to Closed, bill stragglers, then restock. Count which extras vanished (garlic, basil, cream). Buy those, not a new pasta you cannot plate. If the star rating fell, write down the failure — missed drink, wrong extra, slow bill — and change only that on the next Open. Service in Farm & Feast is a rhythm game with manners. The day planner turns that rhythm into a checklist so tomorrow’s you does not improvise the same mistake.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers about the Farm & Feast demo and the 11 Nov 2026 Steam launch.
How many tables are in the Farm & Feast restaurant?
Official screenshots number tables 1 through 6. Seat the grass queue onto those numbers before you fuss with decoration.
Do I cook the food myself?
No. Steam says to bring orders to the chefs. You take the ticket, run drinks, clean, and take bills. Cooking knowledge lives on the cooking page.
What is Check Please?
The card-payment minigame that collects the bill. One demo receipt shows $13.97 for Table 05. Finish it or you skip cash and tips.
Why did my star rating drop?
Wrong dishes, forgotten extras, missing drinks, or slow bills. Steam warns that mistakes upset guests and shadow the restaurant's reputation.
